Falcon

I was just outside my apartment around dusk-5 pm when a dark bird flying to a tree 25 feet away caught my eye because it had something large in it's beak.
My brain kept immediately zoomed through all it's bird identification files.
Crow? no, it's head is too small unless it's bald- hey, an eye-stripe!
The bird started to tear at the rodent.
Bird of prey, eye stripe, size of crow-
Peregrine Falcon !!!
WooHoo!!! right outside my window!

Great instant identifying! They're a pretty neat bird as long as they aren't after one's chickens!
