Childhood Friends

I got an email from a childhood girlfriend last night.

" It's so awesome we still have a connection and I truly truly
value you as one of my oldest and dearest friends.
Thank you for your thoughts, I think of you often as well,
and I firmly believe we will have another life together
at some point. "

This note just brings me to tears for some reason....
Probably because I haven't seen or spoken to her in years.
We were " Butch and Sundance "
Wild and free from around 1967-1979
and then I broke it off because of my religion
it felt like a painful divorce.
I had never forgiven myself for hurting her,
she ended up in the hospital.
We had such dreams for the future.....
