Happy--?

Can a life long chronically depressed person actually be happy?
I have actually been happy for ten days in a row.
It is weird! It is foreign!
As of today I have been on my teeny island for two months.
Yes I have spoken with the man I left... I even had the strength to go on a motorcycle ride with him. The absolute freedom and liberation I felt when I was able to leave and GO HOME afterward was intoxicating.
No more being a prisoner to the negative control.
